A workshop on stress management gives different strategies to help student to cope up with their stressful situations. Our experience of what is considered ``stressful`` is created by our unique perceptions of what we encounter in life (based on our own mix of personality traits, available resources, and habitual thought patterns). Stress can be effectively managed in many different ways. The best stress management plans usually include a mix of stress relievers that address stress physically and psychologically and help students to develop resilience and coping skills.
A healthy self esteem is an important aspect of one’s personality because it keeps one emotionally healthy and brings the ability to take risks and achieve set goals and targets. For students, it helps in achievement in school, social experiences with those in the immediate surroundings of the self such as parents, peers, teachers, as well as the overall cultural aspects lead to development of self esteem. Negative self esteem can be a cause of self discouragement as well as mistrust towards others and loss of own worthiness. We help students to build their self esteem and feel more confident about what they do and help them to overcome their negative thoughts.
Problem Solving is a mental process wherein an individual analyzes interprets a task or a problem at hand and chooses from a pool of possibilities to reach the simplest solution.
Problem solving as a skill and a process can be learnt. The desire is to reach a unique solution that no one has come up with before. The ability to understand what the goal of the problem is and what rules could be applied represents the key to solving the problem. Sometimes the problem requires some abstract thinking and coming up with a creative solution.
Life skills training help students to develop self-confidence and successfully deal with significant life changes and challenges, such as bullying and discrimination. It gives them a voice at school, in their community and in society at large. Life skills training also enables them to make a positive contribution by developing the expertise and experience they need to assert their rights and understand their responsibilities, while preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of adult and working life.
In anger management training, the students learn to recognize signs when they’re becoming angry, and taking action to calm down and deal with the situation in a productive way. Workshop for anger management focuses on learning specific behavioral skills and ways of thinking so you can cope with anger. This helps the students to recognize frustrations early and resolve them in a way that allows them to express their needs — and keeps them calm and in control.
Assertiveness is a skill that can help the students have more control over what is happening in their life, which can then lead to higher self-esteem. Assertive behaviours include: asking for what you want or need. Saying what you are really feeling whether it's positive or negative.
In this workshop, students are taught that an assertive communication style can help them do the things they want to do. Students are taught that being assertive shows they respect themselves and other people and that people who are assertive tend to make friends more easily
A sex education workshop would assist the adolescents to deal with peer pressure and teach them the art of communication and negotiation. It makes them more confident and gives them assertive skills, crucial in their dealings with peers. The workshop focuses on teaching the students about human anatomy (both of male and female), human reproduction through sexual intercourse, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as gonorrhea, HIV/AIDS, et cetera.
