NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING FOR KIDS

NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. “Neuro” refers to neurology, “Linguistic” refers to language and “Programming” refers to how that neural language functions. Learning NLP is like learning the language of our own mind!

This works on the idea that everyone has their internal “Map of the world” which guides them.  And to bring about a change in a child, we need to change the way they see the world.  NLP helps children in finding an effective strategy to deal with their self-restricting thoughts and beliefs.  As adults, we can help children have a positive map of their own world, by following few simple strategies:

  1. CREATE A LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN

It is believed that we have all the resources we need to learn new things. Therefore, it’s important to provide children with the freedom to use their inbuilt resources, and allow them to enjoy the freedom to think out of the box!

  1. COMMUNICATE THE INTENTIONs AND NOT THE MOOD

Help children form positive beliefs about self by providing children positive feedback about them, by talking about what they do best. To communicate our intention to our child is our responsibility. Therefore, make sure what you say, how you say is in congruence with what you wish to convey.

  1. ALLOW CHILDREN TO ENJOY CHOICES AND CONSEQUENCES

Children who are fearless of making decisions and choosing, and who take failure as part of growth, do best in life.
